This service is available to new customers who are Canadian residents with a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN), government-issued photo ID, and a permanent Canadian address.

You can open personal chequing, savings, and US dollar accounts through the self-serve process.

Yes, you can. However, you’ll need to contact your local branch to get started, as this self-serve service is currently intended for new customers only.

You’ll receive an Access Card/Bank Card by mail, sent to the address you provided during the account opening process. You can also access your account through online banking, mobile banking, or by visiting any branch or community banking centre.

No worries—this just means we need a bit more information. A representative from one of our branch locations will contact you within 1 - 2 business days to collect any missing details or documents.

Absolutely. Just contact any branch or community banking centre, and one of our representatives will assist you after confirming your identity.

You'll need a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license or Status Card. Make sure the ID matches the information provided in your application.

If you are experienicng issues with the system recognizing your ID, please reach out to one of our service centres and we will assist you. 

No, there is no fee to open an account through the self-serve option. However, regular account fees may apply based on the service plan you choose.

Currently, joint personal accounts can be opened online. For business accounts, please contact your local branch or community banking centre.
