CEBA

FNBC continues to support its Commercial and Small Business lending customer through financial uncertainty.  As of July 16, 2020, our First Nation Bank Customers will be able to apply for the revised  Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) program announced by the federal government on June 26, 2020.  Under the CEBA loan program, as an existing customer  you can request a $40,000 interest-free loan.  Up to $10,000 may eligible for loan forgiveness.

*UPDATED* as of December 23, 2020

The government of Canada has expanded the Canada Emergency Business Account (“CEBA”) program in order to provide additional support to Canadian businesses that continue to be seriously impacted by the pandemic.

As of December 4, 2020, business clients with an existing CEBA loan are able to submit an enrolment request for a $20,000 expansion to increase their CEBA loan amount from $40,000 to $60,000 and business customers that are new to the CEBA program are able to submit an enrollment request for a $60,000 CEBA loan.

The deadline to apply for CEBA is March 31, 2021 and applicants must meet the Government of Canada’s eligibility criteria, as outlined online at http://ceba-cuec.ca/.  All enrollment requests for a new CEBA loan and increases to existing CEBA loans will be reviewed and decisioned by the Government of Canada, and FNBC will continue to support the program by facilitating the approved funding to customers.

The Government of Canada has developed an optional CEBA Pre-Screen Tool to help businesses determine their likelihood of qualifying for a CEBA loan. The Pre-Screen Tool is not a CEBA application and is solely intended to provide a non-binding indication of eligibility to inform your decision of whether to open a business chequing or operating account and request enrollment for the CEBA loan through FNBC.
